Meet our Staff

Karen Spires

Karen Spires, LISW – S, Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Spires graduated from Capital University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and earned her master’s degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University. Ms. Spires hold the credential of LISW-S. She has more than 24 years of experience working in the mental health and substance abuse field including settings that include inpatient care, community mental health services, employee assistance programs, residential and managed care settings. Ms. Spires also has 14 years of management experience and is EMDR 1 trained, trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing.

John Galbraith

John G. Galbraith, M.D., Medical Director

Dr. Galbraith is our Medical Director and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He is a family practitioner with 10 years of experience caring for young people at Foundations for Living.

Jill Steele

Jill Steele, CNP

Ms. Steele is our Certified Nurse Practitioner. She has been employed by Foundations for Living for the past 14 years.

Matthew Mott, Director of Business Development

Mr. Mott started with Foundations for Living as a Community Liaison in 2009. He was promoted to Director of Business Development in 2014. Mr. Mott graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and comes with 14 years experience in law enforcement and social work. Before coming to Foundations for Living Mr. Mott was a supervisor at our local Children Service agency in the Court Liaison Department and supervisor for the Ashland County Department of Job and Family Services Agency in the Adult Protective and Children Services Department. With Mr. Mott’s experience and knowledge it allows him to have a better understanding of the services communities are in need of for residential services.

Kimberly Tuttle

Kim Tuttle, Dietary Manager

Ms. Tuttle has been with Foundation For Living since 2013 Ms. Tuttle has had several years working in food service. She is currently certified in Serve Safe 1 and Serve Safe 2. Ms. Tuttle takes great pleasure in preparing nutritional meals for the residents of our facility.

JoAnn Mohlar

JoAnn Mohler, Director of Business Office Services

Ms. Mohler has been with Foundations For Living since 2019. Ms. Mohler has more than 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry and over 25 years as a Business Office Manager/Financial Controller.

Jennifer Oliver, MAOM, HR Director

Ms. Oliver has served Foundations for Living as the Human Resources Director since 2019. She recently earned her Master’s degree in Organizational Management with a focus in Human Resources Management. With over 10 years of experience working with employees in the hospital setting, Ms. Oliver has a passion for creating a positive workplace culture where individuals can meet their career objectives toward success.

Elizabeth Daniels, LISW-S, Director of Admissions

Ms. Daniels graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family science and a master’s degree in social work. Ms. Daniels has been with Foundations for Living since 2006, working for 10 years as a therapist and 5 years as a utilization review specialist before being promoted to Director of Admissions in 2021. She has been trained in Trauma-Focused CBT.

Genoia Davis, ADN, RN, Director of Nursing

Ms. Davis has 13 years of experience working mental health care in the residential setting. She started with Foundations for Living as a LPN in 2009. She was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2021. Ms. Davis earned her entry level nursing from Knox County Career Center and graduated with her associate’s degree in applied science from North Central State College. Ms. Davis also holds instructor certifications for BLS, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, and First Aid/CPR/AED through the American Red Cross.

Krystal Zeigler, Director of Risk Management and Performance Improvement

Ms. Zeigler graduated from Tiffin University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology: Applied Human Services. She started her time at Foundations for Living in 2012 shortly after completing her undergrad and has since held many roles. Ms. Zeigler joined the Foundations for Living team as a Youth Care Specialist, and then transitioned to the role of QMHS, and finally filled the role of Neurofeedback/Biofeedback Lab Practitioner for 5 years. She has over 9 years experience in residential treatment services, which lead to her promotion to Director of Risk Management and Performance Improvement in 2021.

Roland Flick, Residential Director

Roland graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Since 2003, Roland has combined years of experience working in the child welfare, social work, law enforcement, mental health and substance abuse fields. Roland was previously a Unit Manager at Foundations For Living before working at Ashland County Department of Job and Family Services as the Intake Investigative Supervisor. In 2021, Roland returned to Foundations For Living as the Director of Residential Services. Roland strives for Services Excellence by focusing on staff development and empowering those to succeed.

John Vines, Community Liaison

John Vines is our Community Liaison. John started with Foundations for Living in 2023. He graduated from Kent State University with Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising. Before working for Foundations, John worked in the Property and Casualty Insurance field. He also did marketing work for several advertising/marketing agencies.

Steven Parsons

Steven Parsons, Director of Plant Operations & Safety Officer

Steven have been with Foundations for Living since 2024. He brings a wealth of experience in streamlining and optimizing project workflows. With many years of maintenance and mechanical experience under his belt, he excels at a multitude of trades. Steven is known for his strong leadership skills and commitment to driving efficiency in project operations.
