Pregnant Youth Treatment

Treatment for Pregnant Youth

Foundations for Living provides treatment and hope for pregnant youth struggling with mental health and/or substance-related disorders. Youth can remain in treatment throughout her pregnancy as well as help her adjust to the changes she is experiencing.

Prior to birth, we will work with the youth’s home county to establish a plan for the newborn that may include adoption, foster care or temporary placement with a relative. We will encourage and support visits and contact with mother and child if it is beneficial and agreed upon by all parties involved.

In conjunction with regular mental health and/or substance-related disorders treatment, pregnant youth will also receive the following services:

  • Prenatal care
  • Onsite nursing and comprehensive medical care
  • Parenting classes
  • Individual treatment focusing on pregnancy and parenting. Specialized groups and classes are offered for pregnant youth.
  • Each youth will be gifted with a layette for the baby prior to delivery.
