Journeys Program for Sexual Exploitation

Foundations for Living provides specialized and individualized treatment services for victims of Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking of a minor is defined as when a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident who has not attained 18 years of age is engaged in a commercial sex act.

Commercial sex acts include: prostitution, exotic dancing/stripping and pornography (Trafficking Victims Protection Act). Human Trafficking also includes labor trafficking.

Foundations for Living provides an environment that treats the complex trauma associated with Human Trafficking. Treatment modalities used include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Many of these youth also suffer from drug or alcohol addiction; therefore, we also offer a dual diagnosis unit to treat the emotional/mental health and chemical dependency issues of the youth.

Our treatment staff provides support and advocacy to our youth during legal proceedings associated with Human Trafficking. Many of these youth have medical issues related to their experience.

Foundations for Living offers nursing services available 24 hours a day, an on-site Certified Nurse Practitioner, and dental and vision care.
